Wilderness Around the Corner: Tyresta National Park
Tyresta National Park is merely an hour away from Stockholm, and is mostly rocks, wood, water. A special feature is a large area that was flame-cut by a raging wildfire in 1999, now offering a rough and strange landscape.
A rather long hiking tour starts in Nyfors (e.g. bus 873 from Gullmarsplan), goes past the lakes Längsjön, Stensjön, crosses the burnt-down area before reaching Årsjön, and then ends at bus stop Svartbäcken. This makes a total of roughly 20 km, and the tour can be roughly seen on the map. Watch out for blueberries along the trails — they are very tasty.
